Chakvetadze reaches semifinals in Slovenia

07/23/2010 - Portoroz, Slovenia (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Anna Chakvetadze overcame a dropped set and saved two match points to beat fellow Russian Vera Dushevina on Friday in the quarterfinals at the Slovenia Open.

The sixth-seeded Dushevina had a 5-3 lead in the third set and two match points at 5-4, but Chakvetadze rallied for the 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 win.

Chakvetadze's semifinal opponent will be seventh-seeded Slovenian Polona Hercog, who advanced with a 7-5, 7-5 triumph of Switzerland's Stefanie Voegele.

Sweden's Johanna Larsson dispatched No. 3 seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, to set up a semifinal match with Ksenia Pervak. The Russian Pervak defeated qualifier Anastasiya Yakimova of Belarus, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.
