UGA suspends two

NCAA Football Betting Lines

07/11/2010 - Athens, GA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Georgia head football coach Mark Richt announced Sunday indefinite suspensions for two players who were arrested on alcohol-related charges early Saturday morning.

Sophomore tailback Dontavius Jackson will serve a minimum six-game suspension while sophomore split end Tavarres King was dealt a minimum one-game suspension. Richt added that additional penalties could be forthcoming while further information is gathered.

"I'm disappointed in their decision-making and lack of judgment and they will both pay a stiff price," said Richt. "All our players need to understand that it's a privilege to be a Bulldog and their conduct needs to reflect the standards we expect."

King started nine of 12 games for Georgia in 2009, totaling 377 yards and a touchdown on 18 receptions. Jackson appeared sparingly in four games.
