Zheng, Dulgheru will decide Warsaw champion

Tennis Betting Lines

05/21/2010 - Warsaw, Poland (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Fifth-seeded Zheng Jie of China and reigning champion Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania will square off in Saturday's final at the $600,000 Warsaw Open, a final French Open tune-up.

Zheng handled Hungarian qualifier Greta Arn 6-4, 7-5, while Dulgheru continued her winning ways at this event by ousting third-seeded Li Na 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in Friday's semifinal action. The Dulgheru upset of Li prevented an all-Chinese final.

Zheng upset top-seeded U.S. Open runner-up Caroline Wozniacki here on Thursday, as Wozniacki retired with an ankle injury after dropping the first set against her Chinese counterpart.

Dulgheru titled here last year by beating Ukrainian Alona Bondarenko in the final on the red clay at Warszawianka Tennis Centre.

The 27-year-old Zheng will compete in her fifth career final, seeking a fourth title. Her last championship came back in 2006, a year in which she collected hardware in Estoril and Stockholm.

The 20-year-old Dulgheru captured her lone title in her only other previous final here last year.

Zheng and Dulgheru will meet for the first time on Saturday, with the winner claiming $98,500 and the loser settling for $52,500.

The French Open will get underway Sunday in Paris.
